Paramedic/FTO (Internal Candidates only) Full Time
The Paramedic Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the lead-worker of a two-person emergency medical service team. The position is responsible for responding to dispatched emergencies and transport requests and ensures that proper BLS and ALS care is provided. Manages the operation of an emergency vehicle and safeguards Lake Emergency Medical Services equipment and supplies. Maintains the security of drugs and narcotics. Prepares various written reports on actions taken. Field Training Officer (FTO) duties include orienting, training and evaluating Provisional Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for positions as Staff Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. FTO duties also include remediation of field personnel and conducting Continuing Education courses.
