Desmond Fitzpatrick, M.D., is the medical director for the Lake EMS System. In that role, Dr. Fitzpatrick is responsible for medical oversight of all prehospital care provided in Lake County including: medical protocols, emergency medical dispatch, quality assurance and improvement, and clinical education.

Dr. Fitzpatrick attended the University of Miami for an undergraduate degree in neuroscience. He completed his medical degree at Florida State University’s College of Medicine. He then went on to obtain his emergency medicine residency training at UF Health Shands Hospital and continued his training at UF with an Emergency Medical Services Fellowship. Dr. Fitzpatrick is currently part of the Division of Emergency Medical Services with an appointment as Medical Director of Lake County.
